依止觉者为指导，接受缘起实相法，
法友皆重离边道，远离暴力侵犯道，此乃佛法之精髓。

舍弃私心全利他，此乃大乘道本质。

净观转化染污相，此乃密续道根本。

金刚乘之诸方便，即身成就前述果，
其中「前行」受尊崇，不仅精要且完整。

「前行」之名令我等、误认此乃次等道，「前行」含前诸功德。
若探无量佛法海，此为正确之选择。

Preliminary

Relying on an enlightened being as a spiritual guide,

Accepting the law of interdependent reality;

Cruising the path of non-violence,

With the spiritual companions who cherish the path of non-extremes,
Are the quintessences of Buddhism.

Forsaking self-interest and dedicating one's whole purpose for the others,

Is the essence of Mahayana Path;

Transforming impure outlook with attitude of pure vision,

Is the root of Tantric Path.

To accomplish all these within the expanse of one life time,

There are great many Vajrayana methods;

Among which preliminary practice is venerated as,

Not only compact but also complete journey.

Although the name "preliminary" at times misleads us

In thinking that it is somewhat a lesser path,
The Ngondro consists of all the attributes mentioned above.

It is therefore a right choice to choose this by those who wish to

Explore the infinite ocean-like teachings of the Buddha.
